Tom Owens has over 23 years experience in Law enforcement and 35 years in the martial arts. He is the chief defensive tactics instructor and one of four shift supervisors with a northwest Indiana Police department. He is an Indiana Senior Instructor and has served as a S.W.A.T. Team Commander, Narcotics Detective, Taser Instructor, ASP Instructor, Sub-Machine Gun Instructor, and a Patrol Rifle Instructor. Tom Owens has instructed several Law Enforcement Agencies throughout the United States, Including the United States Military.

Apart from his Police Training Tom Owens has studied with some of the best in the Martial arts both in the U.S.A. as well as Canada. Tom Owens has studied Kung-Fu, Taekwondo, Judo, Wrestling as well as worked out with several other instructors in other arts. Mr. Owens is the 2006 and 2008 Triple Crown State Champion, 2008 National Champion, and finished 4th in the World in 2008. He is the head instructor at Vita Certamen Martial Arts school and is continuing his training in the arts.
